Terrific and Funny

"There are lots of surprises in this book involving very successful and famous people. Murray has a great story to tell and I promise you won’t be disappointed. This could have been a fiction, but it is real folks!"

Couldn't put it down!!

"Red Mill is so well written, the words flow. I just couldn't put it down. Sometimes I was laughing. All of the emotions are stirred up when reading about Murray's life and what his thoughts were during very awkward, and challenging situations. So...just now I found myself reading it again, but I had to put it down to finish this review. Love it!! Looking forward to his next book".

"You can take the boy out of the Bronx, but can you put him in Uganda?

...Murray Schwartz, author of the highly readable account of his life in showbiz, showed his true Bronx colors. Schwartz does land his own pad in the deluxe Carlyle Hotel, about as far away from the Grand Concourse as a boy can get."

Nice work if you can get it, but the piper always gets paid—or, at least, collects his ten percent."

..."It is rare and wonderful to be allowed into an individual’s life... to let readers know your innermost regrets, as well as your successes. But Red Mill does just that.

From the time I opened the cover and delved into the first chapter of this book, I was hooked! It is mesmerizing, educational, funny, exciting, enlightening, and deeply personal. Reading this book was an adventure! "

Red Mill is a thought provoking, self analyzing, self discovery journal.

"I found this book to be beneficial to those individuals seeking guidance on how to obtain success, while navigating one's modest life challenges, and or the uncertainty of life's circumstances, which may present themselves before him or her.
I truly enjoyed how Murray did not lose "sight of the forest for the trees." He did not allow the challenges he faced, to be a distractor or become a barrier for his end goal (s). I have recommend this book to my friends to read."

It was far more than I was expecting

"I sat down, opened it up and began to read, figuring I'd read a while, then put it down and get on with the day. Nope, cover-to-cover with only one very short break... I just couldn't put it down. There were just too many things going on that kept me reading. And when I finished about four hours later and closed the book, I just sat there and stared at the wall for a while attempting to take it all in.
Had it not been written, we would have been cheated out of a piece of the entertainment industry history, and an absolutely crazy gentleman's life that put it all together. A great read"...

Great Story

"A coming-of-age story mixed with a delightfully voyeuristic look into the television industry, complete with larger than life characters (perhaps including the protagonist himself), and a delightful reminiscence of a bygone era. We follow Murray from his humble beginnings in the Bronx to the center of an entertainment empire, where we find ourselves behind-the-scenes in the world of network television. After trials and tribulations it all ends in fabulous success. Cuban cigars, tassels and multi-million dollar deals. It flows quickly, with great details and anecdotes. A fun read."

"I'll just read one more chapter... all the way to the end."

"To say this book has everything would be an understatement.
It’s a riveting story of a young man from the Bronx with enough “chutzpah” to make it from the mailroom at William Morris, to the CEO of Merv Griffin Enterprises.
The lessons he learned from his days growing up at the Red Mill burlesque club molded him into one of the most intriguing characters in the story of his life.
If the story of his rise through the mad-men era of business wasn’t quite enough toss in some royalty and a plane hijacked to Uganda.
I found myself saying- “just one more chapter,” all the way to the end."
